Hey there,

I want to study postgrad HR at Sydney next year (09) and I was just wondering if any of you kidlets out there have any general comments about HR subjects at USYD? Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated - I've read the subject descriptions (both UG and PG) on the faculty website but I want a real students opinion!

Thanks heaps once again! :)

I would suggest a different uni for HR: we're much too theoretical, when HR should be practical. If you want to do a phd later on, or are interested in going down the academic side, then USYD is a good choice. Also, our HR approach (based on my very limited experience with IR/HRM subjects) is too leftist-focused. Unions are encouraged, whereas the reality of HRM is that unions hinder the power of the manager.
