Does any one know the answer to these qs? am i missing anythng obvious?

2 Why is research into synthetic biopolymers attracting great interest?
(A) They decompose more easily than traditional synthetic polymers.
(B) They can be produced more cheaply than traditional synthetic polymers.
(C) They have superior physical properties compared to traditional synthetic polymers.
(D) They have superior chemical properties compared to traditional synthetic polymers.

3 Which of the following cations can be identified using a flame test?
(A) Al3+
(B) Cu2+
(C) Mg2+
(D) Zn2+

there quite simple
1. A (because biopolyemrs are biodegradable)
2.B (copper is emerald green in falme colour)

Couldn't the first one be d also. For example, biopol is invaluable in medicine because there is no fossil fuel based alternatives and therefore biopol has superior chemial properties than synthetic polymers. Is biodegradbility a chemical property?

For the second, why is it B? The other metals also have unique emission spectrums.

I'm so confused...

Incorrect reasoning. Since there are no fossil fuel based alternatives, there is nothing to compare to. Thus d) does not satisfy your reasoning and is not the answer. Biodegradability is the one to look out for with biopolymers. :)
