2) x^3 =1/4 x=cuberoot of 1/4
3) after all the simplification you will get an expression:

(3x-2)(2x^2+1)<0 then draw the graph n interpret where its <0

$iv. Hence find the quickest time it takes Spiral to go to the rescue his girlfriend from the lighthouse and live happily ever after. Give your answer correct to the nearest minute.$

u sub the value of x, you jus found back into your equations to get the shortest time

This max/min problem is common haha and no it shouldn't be from Cambridge unless by coincidence.

nope, but you should have an equation for the minimum time with x as a subject

$$Show that $\frac{d}{dx}(xe^x)=e^x+xe^x$ and hence evaluate $\int_{0}^{2}xe^xdx$

$\frac{d}{dx} x e^x \\ u=x \ \ u'=1 \\ v=e^x \ \ v'=e^x \\ \\ \therefore \frac{d}{dx} x e^x=u'v+v'u=e^x+x e^x \\ \\ \therefore \int_0^2 x e^x \ dx + \int_0^2 e^x \ dx = 2e^2-0 \\ \\ \int_0^2 x e^x \ dx + e^2-1=2e^2-0 \\ \\ \therefore \int_0^2 x e^x \ dx = e^2+1$

Heh can we continue this in the 3U marathon or something? Id rather have both 2U and 3U in the 3U marathon rather than seperate ones for each.

$1 + \tan^{2}{x} = \sec^{2}{x}$

Use $tan(x) = \frac{sin(x)}{cos(x)}$

That should make you be able to do it yourself.
