Anyone know what the answers were for Q8 and Q10?
I got 3 for 10 but I'm not sure whether the middle one is a cusp or not, I'll do some investigating when i get home.

EDIT: It seems its continuous for the middle st pt so it's 3

Booklet 2 threw me off quite a bit. Was not expecting the 5 mark cricket regression question (tragic). Somehow ended up getting (a+1)^4 as one of the integrals for 4 mark area between two curves question and I just stopped their. Second last question, I was a bit clueless, found the derivatives of the 2 trig curves but not sure when they were both increasing at the same time, probably messed up the last question too. Booklet 1 went well but it was only 32 marks so ;/

You needed to find the average temperature (which was 0.565 or something below the median from the box-and-whisker plot) and the average number of chirps per recording. Using these two values you get a point (x, y) which the least-squares regression line passed through. Subbing in that point you can solve for b, and that gave you a complete equation with which you could sub in x=19.

does anyone remember roughly what details they gave in the cricket question extract and what the question actually was? It’s killing me not knowing, I wanna try it again lmfao

omg that would have been okay if i studied but here i am with probably sub 10 percent 🤡
same... I felt like the paper in itself was pretty easy tbh especially section 1. I just wish I actually fking studied bc I know I couldve done it well, I just didn’t know how to apply what I learnt to test questions oh well

I remember $60 000 at 0.5% interest monthly, she withdraws $800 after interest is applied - don't remember my answer tho

wait, so is it 3 roots or inflection points (or something) then?

60000(1.005)^94 - 800(1+1.005+1.005^2.....+1.005^93)

Bold
= Geometric series, so u substitute in the formula (a=1, r=1.005,n=93), and then you get your answer :) i think it was roughly $900, give or take.

honestly, it was like. the scientist record the cricket sounds every 15 minutes and the box plot ranged from like (not sure) 15 to 24 or something, cant remember sorry. There were like 468 cricks and they wanted us to find the expected value of the cricks at 19 degrees cel.
