I got a letter about it in the mail, did anyone else?

I will most likely use this service to clear up any problems with course content.

but:

1. i dont actually see the point. can someone blankly state it to me? (im actually serious btw)

Yeah I got the letter today too, but i don't think I will use it as I already have the syllabus so the content should be pretty straightforward.

im def gunna use it...sum of the stuff in the chem syllabus is weird...need sum clarifying to do as i dont really wanna trust my teacher cuz she sumtimes says stuff that contradicts with multiple textbooks

In particular unless someone can answer here, I'm going to ask to how many significant figures must I round off my answer when calculating the concentration of a base in a titration (Chemistry) or the force acting on an electron in a magnetic field (Physics) for example.

Chemistry is equal to the least precise measurement. In a series of calculatios carry the extra digits through to the final result. The only exception is pH, where you add one to the least precise measurement.

Physics is equal to the least precise measurement + 1.

Those are the general significant figure rounds, although your school's marking criteria may be slightly different.

I don't think it's completely pointless. Many students won't use it, but it is a source of reassurance for those overly-stressful types.

There's probably a billion things i could call up and ask the people on this advice line but where the hell do i start? It seems a lot easier just doing it myself.
