well u won't be specifically asked questions on year 11 topics per se, however there are concepts which u learned in year 11, that are still relevant in year 12 and therefore u should still be familiar wit them

The HSC exams in year 12 do not test you on what you learn in year 11. That being said, key concepts are often carried on (for example how intermolecular forces work in chemistry, trigonometry in maths, etc)

So in general, you will not be tested on the subject material in the year 11 syllabus, but you will need a good understanding of the concepts of year 11.

It is mainly the skills and concepts that you have learnt that will be carried on eg essay/short answer writing skills. There are exceptions of course.

30% of maths carries on.
Depending on whether you school does it or not, Projectiles carries on for physics. The bonding, gravimetric analysis, mole equations, pH knowledge, writing equation skills carry on for chem.

Sometimes, they will ask you direct questions from the year 11 syllabus or in the case of maths, a question from a lower level of maths.
