idk if im allowed to say but a lot of the top schools have resident composers who just write for their students. and others get private comp tutors who do the same
ohh ok yeah. My school has a resident composer but he lowkey just sits in a room and tells us to compose

incidentally anyone here doing music ext? it's been a while but how do you feel about your elective? i did performance and it was a bit of a train wreck imo but whatever
I did comp elective and was very happy with my comps!!! It does help that my teacher does comp marking most years so he gives me great critiques, both in an artistic sense and how to get a band 6 lol. I got kind of last minute with them (also did comp elective for mu2) which was kinda stressful especially for 4 comps but I got to do some really fun jazz stuff and I'm hoping my extension result will pull up my atar

I dislike performing A LOT so I was very happy to just do comps to avoid that! Plus composing/producing is my dream career but I'm torn between doing music or doing something that will actually get me a job

Real I also lowkey hate performing I cried after trials. My OG plan was to do comp for ext but then I just wanted to spend my time making my one comp really good. Bro I'm stuck between studying law and studying music which are like complete opposites. we're all stuck in the same boat lol

? don't they mark quite harshly seeing as it's an ext course?
relatively speaking but most people who do music ext have been playing their instrument for ages, and since hsc markers arent gonna mark at amus level etc, theres always like 30 people getting raw 50
