Hey erin88, I did this text last year in the HSC and if you have any specific problems just ask.:)
However some things to note are:
Colloquial language - this is useful to mention
Symbolism of the boat
Huck's growth - the way he learns to deal with his own prejudice as he goes along his journey and becomes an independent thinker, however when he meets up with Tom Sawyer again at the end of the novel, he regresses to what he was before.

The major symbolism is the river, which is a very strong representation of the physical journey so make sure you talk about that in your essay, i just started studying the text, so that's all i have to help lol

Personally over last year I did the Odyssey by Homer, Rabbit Proof Fence as my 2 related texts and Journeys Over Land and Sea as my BOS stimulus text though I was prepared to use Wind In the Willows instead if the need arose.
