When HCFCs are oxidised in the troposphere what reactions can show the HCFC turning into hydrogen halides, carbon dioxide and water?

They react with hydroxyl radicals first.

CHFCl2 + *OH --> H2O + *CFCl2

I know that the end product is correct, I can only assume this is how it gets there :rolleyes:

*CFCl2 + O2 --> CO2 + *F + 2 *Cl

2 *F + 4 *Cl + 3O2 --> 2 *OF + 4 *OCl

4 *OF + 8 *OCl + 6 H2O --> 4 HF + 8 HCl + 9 O2

4 CHFCl2 + 4 *OH + 2 H2O + O2 ---> 4 CO2 + 4 HF + 8 HCl
