hey i kinda lost when you got alpha plus beta over 2 and got it as the midpoint and can you explain it in more detail thanks

Basically, the 2 x-coordinate intersections of the line and asymptotes are the 2 solutions of the quadratic equation, ie the roots alpha and beta. So therefore the x-coordinate of the midpoint would be the sum of the x coordinates (alpha+beta) divided by 2.
