anyone got lyrics worth dissecting?

i was listening to the words of the crash test dummies 'mmm mmm mmm' for the first time ever the other day, and realised after all these years i don't get what they're exactly trying to say. anyone wanna take a stab????

It tells of three children - a boy with a post-accident hair colour change, a girl with birthmarks, and a boy with a family who "went to their church (and) shook and lurched all over the church floor."

Their experiences seem normal to the children living them, regardless of how people outside that life experience would interpret things. The common denominator is familiar experience and feeling expressed in uncommonly insightful ways.

Some churches have people on the floor who get into it so much they end up having seizures or fainting etc. I've seen some doco on it. To outsiders, that'd seem weird, but to the kid in the song, its normal... hence the "He couldn't quite explain it They'd always just gone there"

its about making it as a band, what other bands to to make it, what pavement did, and comparing yourself to those bands
