Nancy, Linguistics would bore you. It even bores me sometimes, and you know how I am with language. 
Still, once you get past the driness of the topic it is rather fascinating. Anyway, I'm leaning with David on this one. Try not to hate your degree too much until at least mid-next-semester. You can't really transfer to anything this semester anyway, so you might as well just try to get into the swing of uni work. Like I said before (somewhere), it'll get much better once they're sure that everyone is either proficient or flunked. Once they know what you can do they chuck you into the cool stuff.
