I haven't read that book, however my parents have been reccomending it to me for some time. I haven't had enough time to spare to get into it, as it looks rather complicated.

*will wait for HSC to be over*

oh! oh, oh oh oh oh oh oh

Raymond Feist rocks!!! And he's much easier to read than Tolkein too...you should read his Mistress of the Empire novels...

oh, and digital fortress is sucky - it was dan brown's first novel and I don't think he quite understood the concept of a storyline beyond a basic series of complications, which just go on...and on...and on....goosebumps esque. *shudders* goosebumps...I hate that series...

Depends how much you liked LotR, if you're like me and found LotR to be extremely lacking in plot and interesting characters (what is necessary for me in any story), you'll find Magician to be much better. It's the first book in one of the biggest, and most popular fantasy series. Nothing groundbreaking for me, but if you have the time and like fantasy you'll enjoy your time reading it.
