i chose art based on my strength the theory but am having trouble choosing a topic for my BOW wat is the easiest 2 do?
agreed with Mr Brightside. there is no 'easiest' thing to do. it all up to what YOU are good at. perhaps u are more adept at painting than drawing? or, using photography and digital imaging rather than the conventional apply-stuff-on-flat-surface mediums. or u really like the idea of 3D sculptures, strcutures and models.frizie121288 said:i chose art based on my strength the theory but am having trouble choosing a topic for my BOW wat is the easiest 2 do?
although a lot of artists do it, i strongly advise that u dont go this. take it the logical, sensible perscribed way - you will be grateful for it.biggie walls said:If your good at theory here is my suggestion - whatever media your comfortable with go and just make an artwork straightaway not thinking about anything so like say your a photographer: go out one day and just take photos of everything (making sure their good quality), then when youve got your work -- look at it and pretend your doing theory... You're studying an artist called "your name here" his art is influenced by: (you should know about yourself) and he uses these processes to show that -- look at what you made before and just make up reasons for why things happened -- e.g. If you took a photo of a bum in a dirty street say "I wanted to investigate the under class and question how we can just let people fall out of society" dadadadadad bullshit dadadadada OK now dont show this to your teacher yet... Do lots of work in your diary saying like I wanna do this so Im going to go out taking photographs here and stuff, so it looks like you planned it....
Get it? Its like working backwards... and I have heard alot of artists do it - they just make works and wait for critics to make up an interpretation of the conceptual meaning and they say "oh yes thats exactly what I was trying to achieve"
Best of luck!
No you can't. HSC markers mark a body of work - they don't touch your VAPD. As for internal progress-based assessments, they're usually marked on progression of practise/theory rather than any documented background in your VAPD. I am an example that you can score extremely well and do absolutely shit all in your VAPD.Mountain.Dew said:although a lot of artists do it, i strongly advise that u dont go this. take it the logical, sensible perscribed way - you will be grateful for it.
i also say this because this way, you can cover for ur supposed lack of artistic talent. realise that even if u arent adept at any medium, you can still get TOP MARKS if you justify what u make in ur VAPD. do some experimentation and be creative - go beyond the norms of what 'painting' or 'drawing' really conservatively constricts you to.
and if u are gonna take random photographs, and going 'backwards' then you lose focus of what ur theme is going to be, and what exact message you are trying to tell the audience - you want your message and focus to be clear in your mind when tackling how to express that message.
and besides, i remember that u submit paperwork to the Board of Studies which outlines what theme you are doing, the mediums you are going to use, etc...so its all nice and planned out.
trust me frizie121288, do it the normal way - there is no creativity in the actual art-making process - save the creativity for the actual BOW itself.
what if they don't understand someone's work???nwatts said:No you can't. HSC markers mark a body of work - they don't touch your VAPD.
