Since 1 mole of H2SO4 is 98.08 grams,
2.999 grams of H
2SO4 is 2.999/98.08 moles = 0.0306 moles

Every mole of H
2SO4 produces two moles of H+.
Therefore 0.031 moles of H
2SO4 produces 0.062 moles of H+.

This theoretically is false, as the second stage of H2SO4 ionisation is incomplete (HSO4 is a weak acid that partially ionises), BUT needs to be assumed to be complete in order to be able to solve the question. Eagle Mum is completely correct in the context of the question, just a thought to consider! :)

It did briefly cross my mind before posting that OP might be at Uni given her HSC year is listed as N/A, so thanks for your post.
