Well, looks like i'm coming back to uni this year. But the problem is i'm thinking that I might do urban geography at blacktown on fridays. Not that thats a problem, the thing is i have already decided to do intro to earth sciences at parra and i have two tourism subjects at hawkesbury. So if i do urban geography I will be going to 3 different campuses via public transport over 5 days ... do you think that its possible? or do you think that i'd be extremely tired before friday actually comes around?

well cape I think there is no question that you'd be tired, this doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't possible...I mean you'd really have to look at how your timetable looks and see whether you think that it's do-able for you personally...what are your other options though?

well considering i went to hawkesbury 4 days last year. but parra is only 15 mins away by bus from where i live.

There aren't that many subjects that i'm interested in. The ones that i'm interested in are the geology one- which i am already doing and the two electives that i'm doing in spring. There is always the option of businessy like subjects - but they still won't allow hawkesbury students on the parra campus

seriously, not even with written approval? That doesn't really help you much...well I think it's do-able, and I mean the only other option would be to sacrifice what you really want to do just to make it easier...but personally I think you'd be better off doing what you want and doing the extra travelling...otherwise the semester would drag on like nothing else and you'd probably be even more tired, bored and frustrated...what do you think?

eesh, i was tired enough after 4 days of traveling to hawkesbury ... which is slightly over 2 hours each way.

Apparently they think that hawkesbury students live in hawkesbury and plus the parra campus is full. They will only allow you on the campus if the subject is only taught at parra.

Thats what i was thinking natstar.

well at least that gives you some time to rest, or at least get work done so it doesn't pile up on you...and it's some travel time too so you hopefully won't be leaving home early and getting home late which is what is really draining.

I basically leave home at 6am to make a 9am lecture. When i finish at 12, i usually get home about 2:30 or so. depending on the trains. And i do my work on the trains as well, instead of sleeping all the time, lol.

hehe not that there's anything wrong with sleeping, especially if you're leaving early...but yeah I have to get up that early too :( It isn't too bad if you have the afternoon to work and get over stuff though

yeah well good luck deciding...the only thing I know about blacktown is that it has an olympic sized swimming pool...irrelevant I know...but I'm so jealous if only bankstown had one...you know I'd probably go to blacktown just for the pool...but I don't think that's very constructive advice...let us know what you decide, I'm sure it will work out well no matter what you choose. ;)

If the subjects you are interested in are only available in Hawkesbury, then the travel time will definately be worth it. You don't want to waste your time in lectures and tutorials of subjects you don't like. Also factor in the fact that if you do a subject you like, you will most likely do well in that subject.

Use your travel time to brush up on readings, or just go to sleep.

of course it is do able. take a berocca and/or red cordial [both might be lethal] or V/red bull, it will give you more energy and alertness.
traveling sucks, but considering that you like the subject, i would choose it.
if the unit is full, you cant get in which most of the time it is at parra. but find out form the student centre if the unit you want is full, if it aint sign the program variation for parra. they dont check.

luke_waldon, you think that 1and 1/2 hours was bad. One night it took me 4 hours to get home from richmond- cause its my home campus.

hmm, maybe i'll have a look at what subjects are taught that parra worth doing.
