of course, last time a guy did that to me i got really mad cos it is wuss way out... however in ur case it might b the best way- i know if i started fallin 4 troy i would be totally stuffed, i think id be to scared/embarrassed to tell him i liked him... so sms may sorta hint at somethin which can then be brought up in convo later.. instead of droppin a huge shock out of the blue on her.

seriously though, i was kinda in the same situation as you. i let him have all the time he wanted, i backed off for the whole time. but then when he said that he did'nt like her anymore, i told the girl that i liked her. the whole point that i'm raising is give subtle hints, and be patient with relationship issues. like someone said, it could just be a phase, but it might last. in this case, go for it, after giving hints of how you feel about her.

Are you kidding? Every instance I've known where a friend has rejected the advances of another friend has become SO awkward between them.

Unless you think or know that there is a very strong possibility that this girl returns your affections, I wouldn't risk it.

Besides, unless she is the girl you are going to marry, chancers are that when you break up, the friendship would be over anyway. If you want the friendship to last, then don't tell her.

Talked to her about the situation between us and where we were headed in the future. Had a long talk and even though I wasn't the one, we're still best friends and become even closer.

So honesty does some good once in while. If she's your best friend, she might've picked up on your thoughts already...
