i usually make my romantic intentions fairly obvious, and if there isn't any kind of reciprocation, i will take it as a resounding "no dice." my current gf is the first instance where i've been more upfront with it all.

They don't approach me, or they simply stay away from me, making me believe that they hate me, so I stay away from them.

I usually weight up options. Since the most I know is how I'm feeling, I work with that first and analysise the probability that the other person would be interested in going out with me, how successful the attempt would be and what I have to work with then continue to find overwhelming evidence not to ask them out to save myself the trouble. I tend to gather as much information on them as possible and compare compatibility ratios and whether such personalities will be able to successful synchronise for a healthy possibly long term relationship. Then I just tell myself I can't be fucked and don't bother.

well i've had 3 actual boyfriends (between 3 months and 1.5+ years)...plus a 2 week fling

if the relationship either never really starts or dies in the arse in under 6 months, then its kind of stupid to bother with it once you see it get the shovel to dig its own grave (i'm so morbid arent i lol). and staying with someone for the sake of having someone to be with...well that's never going to work so kill it while you have a chance, dont wait for icing on the cake or till your kids are old enough to get married caus you'll hurt more people, in more ways [/rant]
