What would happen if u had 5 2 unit subjects and 1 exts... how would ur 1 ext mark be accounted for in ur uai if it were 1 of ur top 10 units? or would it not be counted at all towards your HSC?...

I think that as it is one unit it is then combind with one unit of your worst subject to give you a mark out of 100.

For example
You do Extension English and you get 48/50 and you do General Maths and you get say 60/100 and they were your two worst units then the 48/50 and half of your General Maths mark (30/50) will combind to give you 78/100.

I think that is post scaling.

The worst 2 units are scaled down to one and it's added to the one unit subject.

They separate all your subjects into 1 unit that is out of 50. They take the best 10 units and use that to give you the total aggregate marks. This total aggregate marks is used to determine your UAI.
