Basically, it's not dirty, and no, its not a terrible thing.
Saying such rubbish is the product of being "kept in the dark" by over cherished parents, who over-believe in their child's innocence.

Religious views I personally respect. I think that it shows real commitment to believe in such a strong thing. Thus, I respect it.

But calling it a "dirty and terrible" thing, without legitimate backup, like all things, is stupid.
