i'm doing raw.. can i use another novel as a related.. (1 Viewer)

hey guys..

is there an issue with doing the same text type?

i've analysed 3 texts through the year for this..
-a novel
-a movie
-a short story?

since raw is a novel as well do you think it'll be a problem?.. like will i be marked down?

i dont think u get marked down but i mean a novel is ur prescribed and needs alot of discussion ur related texts obviously will have less so i think the reason why teachers try and people say dont do a novel as ur related is because u wont have enough time or space to discuss it properly but i may be wrong

yeah.. i see what u mean...

if they ask for 2 texts (only).. like they in first paper i think i'll use .. the movie.. and the short story..

I don't see why not. You have a movie as your other related text - that I would say has just as much detail to discuss in it as your novel. You don't have to describe the related novel in as much detail as Raw but just the main ideas, the gist of it, throw in techniques and link it somehow. That should be fine.
