Hi!
I haven't done very well in some of my assessments (maths) this year but am hoping to get into uni so I am aiming to get at least 75+ for my uai. I'm stressing I do mostly easy subjects that get scaled down as well so I dont think my chances are good!

My subjects, rank, and trial marks are:

Adv. English 4/40 75%
General Maths 30/60 52%
Community+Family Studies 1/30 92%
Society+Culture 1/7 95%
Food Tech 1/8 70%

and I go to a non-selective public school!!

Do you think it is possible for me to get into the 80s? I think I can get better marks for english and food tech but I'm really shockingly bad at maths and think the highest I can expect to get for that is 70.

:(

It's too late to worry about the scaling of your course now. What you can do is to increase your marks in Food tech, abd CAFS to compensate for the loss of General Maths.
Currently looking, you are aiming for 73. By following the advice i have just given you. You might increase your UAI to 75.

I am so so so so screwed!!!!

However, my teacher thinks i can definitley get a high band 5 for english, maybe low band 6 if i try hard/am lucky. Will this make a difference-get me 80?

i wish i could hire someone with a smart brain for these exams!

GM will hurt you badly... as for English Adv, you'll really need luck to get band-6, as for band-5 - I don't see why not. As for all your other subjects, being ranked first means you have everything to gain and lose in your Exam, so work hard... and you could still get over 80.

It's possible to estimate the scale mark. and therefore to deduce what the UAI is going to be. That is if you understand how the whole process work.
