how would you differentiate y=(x-3)^3
its probably really simple but im seriously stuck :confused:

You have to use the chain rule.

y = (x-3)^3

treat (x - 3) as one entity first, when you differentiate it and then multiply it with the derivative of the bracket itself.

dy/dx = 3(x-3)^2 * 1

= 3(x-3)^2
