i am pleased to officially call upon all hsc students doing the ENGLISH AREA OF STUDY called CHANGE to participate in a ceremonial aos-booklet BURNING across nsw.
The burnings will be held in various locations - but all will be at 12:30pm after PAPER 1.
For more information, please contact your nearest BOARD OF STUDIES member.

hmmm... burning all that biomass... haha, let's do some maths:

change booklet weighs about 5 grams, and say it was 80% carbon in the form of wood pulp (ie. paper). now that's 4 grams of carbon.

so, by number of moles of carbon per booklet = m/Mm = 4/12 = 0.33333 moles.

combustion eqn: C + O2 => CO2

therefore 0.33333 moles of CO2 is formed per booklet burnt.

0.33333 * 24.47 = 8.156 litres of CO2.
each booklet we burn will unleash 8.156 litres of bad bad greenhouse gas CO2.

8.156 * 60000 booklets in state = 489.4 megalitres of CO2.

im a hate-all-stimulus-booklet-sources man.
ah ancient operator.. i THINK they mean the stimulus booklet, which is compulsary to include (well.. 1 of the texts anyways) so u may keep your prized StarWars tape. (i can just FEEL the sigh coming from you)
