hey all, i have an interesting problem with my phones microSD card. It works fine in my phone, new Samsung D900i, and it has no problems with my custom built desktop, BUT it will not be recognised by the inbuilt card reader in my laptop, which is generally better behaved than the card reader in my desktop.

anyone know any possible reason for this?

I've found that my microSD (+ SD adapter) cannot have more than around 128 items per folder because that would lock up the disk and must be reformatted since my card reader can't read it. It's a strange limitation that my card has, I have Kingston 1GB.

it works in one card reader, but not the other (more reliable one)
use it in the one that works,
don't use it in the one that doesn't

...hardly a complicated problem

It's still not a dilemma. It's not a choice between two equally undesirable alternatives.

No, my phone can't format. Just use windows's one and don't format it as FAT32 it can cause some incompatibilities with phones or SD players.
