Discuss TWO reasons why nations might protect their domestic industries.

Describe TWO economic effects that the protection of domestic industries has on global trade.

These are from the 2001 HSC i treid Advice line twice but they were too busy. I think they ask similar things yet they were both worth 2 marks and one after the other. Wont the answer for the first part be the same for the second?

the first q is asking for things such as prevention of dumping and the infant industry argument

whereas, the second q asks for things such as reduced international competitiveness, and the retaliation effect that comes from protection

one asks for why, and the other asks you to describe the impact/effect
