just really want to know, exactly which indicators do we need to know about?
with the indicators, do we have to know about the ranges for all of them? because if we do, then there would be a whole lot... :confused: and numbers are CONFUSING!!!!

Ok you need to know the indicators and their respective ranges. It'll come with time, but the syllabus specifies the following indicators.

Indicator, pH range (colour in range), Used for?

-Litmus, 5.5-8.0, purple, Distinguishing between acids and bases

-bromothymol blue, 6.0-7.7, green, Distinguishing between acids and bases

-methyl orange, 3.1-4.4, orange, Distinguishing between levels of acidity

-phenolphtalein, 8.2-10.0, pink, Distinguishing between levels of alkalinity

yes i know those 4 :)
you're sure that it's JUST those 4?

oh and... is there anything wrong with this equation:

H2SO4(aq) + NH4(aq) --> NH4SO3(aq) + H2O(l) ?

Yeah, the problem is that NH4 has a charge of +1 and therefore can't exist by its own as you have put

These three should do you:
Litmus ~7.0
Methyl Orange ~3.0
Phenolphtalein ~8-9.0
