1. Write a transcript of a talk show titled Literary Hour.

Two scholars in the area of your elective have been invited to consider teh value of that elective to contemporary responders.

Write a transcript of this discussion.

In your transcript refer to TWO prescribed texts and other texts of your own choosing.

2. Develop a piece of writing from the perspective of a character from ONE of the prescribed texts and which begins with the words

"Who says your way is right?"

In your response you may be as imaginative as you choose, provided that you show your understanding of the ways of thinking in the Elective you have studied.

3."Men in the nineteenth century had a greater degree of power and independence than women"

Discuss this view, by examing the position adn attitudes of men within social institutions in TWO of your prescribed texts as well as other related texts.

4. "Composers and their texts are a reflection of the society they are created in, even if they are critical of that society"

How effectively do the texts you have studied for your elective demonstrate the truth of this statement?
