well as long as you know how induction is used in the cooktop, then you are qualified as 'knowing' that dotpoint... they won't ask a 1-marker on what are electric ranges...lol

but feel free to broaden ur horizon

I reckon electric ranges just means electric cooktops
cause a gas range is a gas cooktop :D

Yep I am certain
Range - From Dictionary.com " 15. A stove with spaces for cooking a number of things at the same time."

Furthermore,
Define: Kitchen Range (in google):

a kitchen range in which the heat for cooking is provided by electric power"

Technically a cooktop is an individual hot plate and the range is the collection of cooktoops. It is an unnecesary compliacation in the syllabus.
