Hey so basically I just got my 3u trials back and initially I couldn't prove this Induction question cause of some error, so I fudged it and just made it equal to the right hand side (out of desperation haha)
But I managed to get it correctly a second time round, after I did some other questions.
My problem is that I completely forgot to cross off my first attempt (which was in the booklet) but I did include my answer (which was on an extra page).
I basically lost 1.5 marks just because "i had two solutions". This happened for another question which I accept was a stupid mistake, just because I actually had two different solutions.
But for an INDUCTION question, it's essentially a prove question, so I really can't have "two solutions", just an attempt and a solution. Right?!
My teacher (who didn't mark the question) said something about how in the HSC, they consider your second attempt as the real answer. Is this true? I know it's only 1.5 marks but it's really irritating and I want to have some legitimate reasoning to back this up...
Unless you guys think that I deserved to not get full marks....then I'll just save myself from humiliation
Thanks!
