Upon pondering my Uni preferences, I'm thinking of this as a future career. Although i'm aware it will take 10+ years, i think it will be ultimately rewarding and something that i would enjoy. I'm going to sound like a complete noob but I have a couple of questions.

Is it best to attend a private college or Uni?

I looked through the UOWollongong book (My uni of preference) and a BMedSci only has a UAI of 84 and a 3 year duration. This striked me as strange. Is there another degree? Or is this normal?

Any help is appreciated heaps.

Only a bit of a n00b?

GPs are medical doctors, holding an MBBS or equivalent (sorry BMeds) as well as a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Training as a GP takes place after basic medical training (6 years at uni, or 3+4 for graduate medicine) and internship (minimum one year, PGY1). You work for a private training organisation as a General Practice Registrar. This is something you needn't think about until after considering if you have a) the drive and b) the will to study medicine.
