can someone explain how to integrate xarcsinx?

let u=arcsinx and v'=x

work from there as x is easier to integrate then arcsinx

i.e. use Iv'u.dx =uv-Ivu'.dx

here is the solution...i may have made a mistake but this is sort of the way u do it

what the.. is arc even in the syllabus.. havent seen arc sin through all my years of schooling.. what textbook is it in?

arc is just an alternative notation for the inverse trig functions... I thnk they use it in some other states around australia. ie y = arcsinx = sin^-1 x.


In assessments and the HSC exams, u must use y = sin^-1 x , cos^-1 x, tan^-1 x.
