can someone show me the steps to integrate this-

integral of ln(x^2-1) dx ....thanks

i started with integration by parts then i experienced a road block! thanks again

Split ln(x^2-1) into ln(x-1)(x+1) and then to ln(x-1)+ln(x+1). Now use I.B.P

$\int ln(x^2 - 1)dx$

$= xln(x^2 - 1) - \int \frac{x}{x^2 - 1} \times 2x dx$

$= xln(x^2 - 1) - \int \frac{2x^2}{x^2 - 1}dx$

$= xln(x^2 - 1) - \int \frac{2(x^2 - 1)}{x^2 - 1} + \frac{2}{x^2 - 1}dx$

Go from there

EDIT: ^^^ or that. It'll probably be quicker.
