using j for imaginary numbers? never heard of it, or seen in any textbook.
if that was in a question, it would probably throw me off.

Unless they do something stupid like "Letting j^2=-1, blah blah" it won't be tested.

It's just that i is for current. Electrical engineers use j instead.
