Hey guys, long time no post!

So I'm having second thoughts about my units for this year. So far I've got the following:

ANAT
MBLG
BCHM

Now the last unit is meant to be STAT2911 but I'm considering CHEM2911 or PHSI2005 OR anything else that'd supplement the units that I already have. My question is, how useful would intermediate statistics be in the long run if I'm probably not going to major in it? I know that it'd help in honours but couldn't I just read up on the statistical techniques when I get there?

You often find statistics useful in the most unbelievable places. Even I've only done 2nd year 1st sem stat, a few friends of mine asked me to help them with their Honour project with my limited stat knowledge.

Your knowledge in stat can be especially useful if you will do some hypothesis testing later on in your life/career (e.g. does Oral A really work better than Calcate in preventing tooth decay). That being said, however, unless you specialise into statistics, you are likely to forget what you learnt in 2nd year.

So my opinion is that if you don't specialise, you probably will be better off without it (since you'll be paying less HECS later on too)
