How does 1 compete against them in maths, I have no chance of getting a good rank because they just own every exam? any ideas, motivating stories might help.

firstly if everyone does well, getting a low rank is not so bad. that's not to say you shouldn't try your best to get better marks and ranks though.

secondly, you may notice as the year goes on and as you get into year 12 that you will catch up. this goes for anyone that has learnt it before and further ahead, eventually you will catch up to their level and from there you are all on a level playing field.

you may also notice that people will drop out (if its ext 1). for example i think in the start of year 11 for me there were maybe 50-60 people doing ext1, by the hsc there were only about 25 or so left. (aprox.) so just hang in their and make sure that your marks are okay.

lol same for me pretty much

I've got heaps of asians in my MX1 class that are really good at maths, however absolutely shit at every other subject

whereas I have to study for everything they just concentrate on maths. I always have to put heaps of extra time into study compared to them, because whilst they just study maths pretty much I have to do well in all my other subjects..

My Current Year 11 MX1 class: 20 Internationals from China and 5 locals. 100% Asian class.

I was top 5 in my year for maths every year till now when they came. But you got to realize for the HSC your competing against the state. Just study and study because there weakness is crap at english and most of them are cocky so they don't study ad most likely slack off. I go to blakehurst high and without these international students our school wouldn't even be in top 200.

what school are you from?

Yup :p Beating international students is not that hard. Just study, listen in class and practice regularly. International students are only so good because they do their Maths really early. Perhaps you could try accelerating with a tutor or on your own :)
