phizz - u can use dial up access through room line but u have to use calling card so its a bugger to set up... trust me, im pritty sure u cant set up broad band.

yeah... its a budget killer but i seriously think that they will come in handy again.. and especially in 2nd year you eill notice that all our subjects are pretty much the same..

to use dialup internet @ uni is not hard to set up, all you have to do is change your dialup phone number to work with the calling cards.

So your ISP dialup number would be

411,,,1,<calling card number>,,,<ISP dialupnumber>

the 411 is so you can dialout, the comma's are pauses so it waits a bit before it starts dialing the numbers so it works with the system ;)

Thanks for the help about the net, but I spose I've now gotta weigh-up the costs to find the cheapest way to go.

Spose dial-up would be the cheapest, though downloading will take yonks.

if you do go dialup, get an isp plan that doesnt disconnect you after a certain amount of hours because a local call on the calling cards is 50 cents!
