My sister got this funky Panasonic YEPP mp3 player in singapore. 512MB, plays mp3, ogg, wav, FM tuner, able to record to 128kbps mp3 off FM, able to record from CDs straight onto it using a linein port, and more equalisation features than you can poke a proverbial at.

It's awesome, and all for 160$ in Singapore. I love it.

Pity it's too small for me, though. I need more than 5-10GB :/

I read they had really crappy interfaces.

In Itunes ?

Edit->Preferences->Ipod tab

(Make sure your ipod is connected)

Change the 'auto update..' option to manual

the auto thingy is a bitch, but i got to the manual thingy, its a lot better.

how podcast? i dont see the point in it..

Never really had problems with auto. I never add new songs to Itunes except when I buy a cd, and don't use it to play music, so not a real issue.

Podcasting is innovative so you can listen to recorded radio shows from Podcasters, whenever/wherever you want. Rather than having to listen to the radio at 7.30 every morning, you can choose shows to listen to at any time.
