Assessment Task 4
Task Overview
Your task is to develop a relational database of your choice in Microsoft Access. You will need to work within the context of the system development cycle.
General Requirements
The database must be able to run on the school network
All documentation is to be submitted as hard copy. You will be required to submit a soft copy of your database as well.
The submission must include a cover page (stating project title, the student’s name)
Each section of the assignment must be clearly labelled and presented in the same order as given in the task requirements.
Task Requirements
You are required to submit:
A feasibility study – problem definition, requirement report and summary of investigation (500 words max/1 page max)
E-R Diagram (1 page max)
Data Dictionary and 5 records for each table (2 pages max/4 tables max)
A description of at least three queries that were used in your database.
These queries are to include more than one table from your database.
The feasibility should include statements about the purpose of the system, identify the participants, data/information and information technology. Do not discuss economic feasibility, as there is no cost involved.
Some suggestions for the project are:
- database for a doctors surgery
- database for a product ordering system
Due date: - Friday 3rd September (3:15pm)
Weighting: - 20% of assessment mark
