So, how much study have people done? I've done pretty much nothing still :( feel so burned out and I haven't had an exam since yesterday.
not much, about 20 hours study total in the last 8 weeks or so. i dont think you really need to study that much with ipt, lol, most of it is logic

its normal to feel burnt out 1-2 days after an exam, but you're going to have to push yourself, hehe, good luck =]

Sounds about right.

- Define the term frame rate and describe how different frame rates affetc the processing and display of video data.
A frame rate is the measure of how many frames (images) are shown in a video in any given second. The higher the frame rate the better quality the video is, and the larger the file is.

Q: What backup procedures would you recommend a booming video rental store, 'IPTSUX', should use to keep a copy of their stores database containing customer and video records. Justify your answer (3 marks)

you simply add the set length or data width of each field e.g. 10 + 6 + 6 + 8 = 32

and times this by the number of records (each record will contain 32 characters and equal 32 bytes)

this will give you the answer in bytes

to convert it to kilobytes

divide the answer by 1024

1. i would suggest backing up the data at an isolated location outside the video store, so that if there is a fire/danger in the store, only data from the current day would be affected.

2. i dunno

My question:

Where do the following fit into UMDIT (system development cycle)...

- Prototype

- Gantt Chart

- Phased Conversion

- Feasibility Study

are u sure it will give answer in bytes? I thought it was bits...

lol eric

yeah, im sure its bytes

remember, 8 bits is needed to display 1 character

its already calculated as bytes in this respect

you must be thinking of video, audio and image sizes, which when calculated, will give you the size in bits. only then is it necessary to divide the answer by 8 to obtain a byte size

My question:

Where do the following fit into UMDIT (system development cycle)...

- Prototype- understanding the problem

- Gantt Chart- I think that fit's in all.. but mostly in designing solution's

- Phased Conversion- implementation

- Feasibility Study - understanding the problem

an easy way to remember this is TOES

Technical: determines the IT requirements of the system

Organisational: This is whether it fits in the organisation and it's goals, and objectives.

Economic: determines economic benifit's of the organisation, and whether it is worth doing, as well as if the organisatio can afford it

Schedule: is the time available to implement the system

thank you for that clever acronym, never would have thought of that
