hello i have an irp assignment too my focus question is why do teenagers turn to drugs...do u think thats a good topic? can neone help me? guide me? nething?

hmm....might be hard to get primary data, ie. people might not want want to say why, cos lots of times, its cos theyre screwed up or have family probs - but thats only for, like, serious users...or were you thinking of recreational use?? cos that would be a whole different topic...but also people might not want to give you much info cos its kinda illegal...apart from alcohol & smoking...

i dont think it will be too hard, im doing alcohol, and my question is:

"what factors influence teenage girls to drink alcohol and how do the effects of alcohol impact their economic and social well-being."

my teacher helped me write it, so hopefully it wont be to hard.

hi... well u might want to consider ellaborating on your focus question, like try to be more specific in what you aim to find and the results you want to achieve, this'll probably help to narrow some issues down for you. i'm sure if you put your mind to it and your really passionate about the issue, it'll work for you. so how long till its due for you guys? cause mine's due in just a few weeks, and i'm finding myself bogged down with not knowing what to write about exactly, i mean i have the secondary info i need, i think, but thats practically it. btw my focus topic is 'to undertake an investigation into the factors that impact positively, and negatively contribute to an adolescents self-esteem, socialisation and development'. feedback would be appreciated, thx and good luck guys.

i think its a good topic but you have to be specific with which drugs..and ones thjat you can gather primary information on

OK......This 1 could be hard but it can alos work well its an interesting topic as well, how r u goin 2 ansa u'r q's coz u gotta remeber that if u'r doin a servey 25% if not more of the replys will be crap ass made up 1's so you will have to take that into account. if i was doin u'r topic question i would think about doin case studies say 5 case studies all on differant ppl but one's that use drugs maybe pik 1 person thats heavy on drugs 1 that is medium 1 thats only a social user 1 that only uses legal drugs such as smokin n drinkin n then maybe another but make sure they have really differant back grounds or sumthin that sets them apart dont just pik a few ppl that u no well, really look into it n u could do well. also consider age as well these days yr 7 ppl r smokin pot but becoz there only new into it they may not talk about it openly where as sum1 that has been using it 4 a while probably wouldnt mind. so yeah theres just a few things to keep in mind n good luck xoxoxo

my decision

i decided on my question and my topic isnt so broad nemore my focus question is "why do teenages turn to smoking" or "why do teenagers smoke" ive done my project plan and diary and handed most of my surveys out just need to get them back and graph it and yeah write it out and that, i got some secondary info but havent got round to primary yet and its due week 4 term 1 if neone has ne useful sites on teenage smoking(in australia) and statistics sites(went on the abs site but couldnt find nething) or would neone like to do my survey if u do just email me or something thank you for all ur help everyone i really appreciated it
