4. why did you face these problems? What caused them? (eg stress etc)
I felt betrayed by a friend and felt like a third wheel in a friendship. It was not justified in the slightest. Another problem was that I didn't like my mother's attitudes and it made me unhappy to see how depressed and angry she was. The feelings of depression were amplified because I couldn't just fix the problem.
5. How did you deal with the problem/s you faced?
The first issue just took time and I had to take an objective approach to my own attitudes and faults. I wrote down the problem and what was wrong with the way I was approaching it. The second issue I still get upset about sometimes but I had to realise that I couldn't change my mother's attitudes easily - introspection.
6.Where/who did you seek support from while facing these problems?
*parents

*other family members
*friends

I think that even if the specific problems change the underlying reasons won't because they are caused by our human nature and this cannot just be changed. I believe that education is extremely important in this and firm yet understanding compassionate support is important. I also think that the trend towards individuality and selfishness is not doing us any favours as many tend to believe everything is about them and their happiness.

Good luck with the assessment:)

Slightly less workload at school.. i.e, NOT setting homework when they already have assignments for that subject.. Other than that, there is not a single problem in my life. Teenagers have it sweet.

I go to a selective school, pressure to do well academically. I want to do well to so i put pressure on myself.

5. How did you deal with the problem/s you faced?
I'm pretty active so playing/training fro sport or going for a run is a good way to destress. So is food and a TV : P

less emphais on UAIs and the HSC. encouragement of apprenticeships etc and portrayal of non-university type jobs in a more positive light.
There are always going to be problems facing teenagers purely due to age, education, social situations etc.
Personally i dont have it that bad. Though i am at a selective school which is pretty sheltered.
Positive role modelling
Increased Awareness and acceptance of Mental Health

4. why did you face these problems? What caused them? (eg stress etc)I was bullied at the start of my high school. Was used by a girl who called her my friend and when I decided I didn’t want to be her friend anymore she decided to spread rumors at school that I called up her mum and called her a bitch. Being an athiast in a Christian school made it compulsory to study some sort of religion for school and everyone being and/or saying they were Christian didn’t help got into fights not physical though.

5. How did you deal with the problem/s you faced? At the time suicide(unsuccessful). But changed schools and am now seeing a counsellor. Not many people wanted to be my friend until the next school.

People can be considerate of other people if we are to change problems that teens today have to face. There will always be peer pressure to be different things during adolescence however this peer pressure doesn’t have to go so far that it becomes a punishment not an experience.

Good Luck

- "prevention" can perhaps never be achieved. these pressures are pretty much meant to be part of the teenage life as if it serves as a rite of passage.
..yeh i don't know if it can be prevented, i'd suggest for people to be more friendly to other people coz u dnt know what they've been through but as if that'll really work.. but im only sayin this coz my friends were the best!
