Is it really competitive? I really want to join but I'm a little out of shape
A mix of elite, competitive and recreational runners. So far it's the best group of people I've met through uni.

Running is a great way to relieve stress. I've recently picked up running (like yesterday, lol). If you live in a residential college, you do get some SUAC membership. However, I am not sure which type of membership it is, I have yet to receive it.

I find running to be very stressful. It's exceedingly painful at times.

what is the athletics club like?
i used to do it.
:) immaa long jumper.
It's mostly middle distance focused, which is what our coach specialises in. There are some sprinters and even marathon runners though, but I only know of one person who's done any serious training for field events.

I like to exercise (run) outdoors at night. Since I'm living on City Road, it wouldn't be that safe right? Maybe I'll just exercise with the stairs.

You have to join SUSF for $55 a year - this allows you to join the sport clubs (super-important example: sailing) and go to the gym casually. The website is really unclear about the casual prices unfortunately, and I don't know them.

so you pay $55 to join SUSF and you can go to the gym whenever you want for the year?

Pffh, that's nothing. If you want to compete for athletics, you pay the $55 for SUSF, the training/uniform fees for SUAC, $100 season registration for ANSW, then you get to pay again for every competition and/or event.
