Just wanted to know if anyone was doing Holocaust denial for their major essay. I'm doing it, just wondering what other people have used as their essay questions and what resources you have found and stuff.

The Holocaust is in the Modern History syllabus.. have you double checked that it's an ok topic to do, as the major work can't be from either ancient or modern syllabus'. I'm doing Anne Frank and her legend.. how she was built up and all that stuff, but that's ok coz it's a personality study.. hope that helps!

its internally marked, there shouldnt b ne problem with doing nethiing affiliated with the syllabus, but the teachers DONT RECOMMEND it, i dont think theres nething stopping u from doin woteva u want even if its on the syllabus...check wit ur teacher when u get back to scool neway

im considering the differing portrayals of hitler,holocaust denial, or the different opinions of historians of wot caused WWII

man i am so against people doing holocaust denial as their topic. it's like, to analyse it gives it credence to the garbage.
once i saw this doco ( if youcould call it that), and they had a holocaust denier and Deborah Lipstadt. the denier spoke first, and then there was an ad break and they said, "after the break , we'll find out if theholocaust really happened"


what you could do which is interesting is consider the impact of pomo theory on history, and use history of the holocaust as an example. also aboriginal australian history. and all other kidns of examples where historical research has been broadened by consideration of post modern theory

check with your teacher cuz my assignment sheet says and i quote project "must not overlap significantly with the examinable content of any other School Certificate or HSC course"
if it is ok to do you want to check out historian david irving - he believes the holocaust never happened

i did exactly that
but i narrowed it down to 3 of them..its way too big!...so many issues
i did:
paul rassinier- one of the first
arthur r butz- cornerstone of the movement his book is very important
david irving- just coz the the most well known these days

i used lipstadt's book and a website http://www.ihr.org/ for a lot of short articles
i went to sydney uni library...and alot of stuff off the net

i dun think i have my essay saved..i lost the disk..but i got the real copy...got a realli good mark i think like 21/25
let me kno if u want me to scan it or sumfin....if i kno how to do that?

hey what was your actual essay question? cos i dont know which part of denial i should focus on. Where else did u get your resources from. i have lipstadts book and i have been to the state library. Its hard cos no libraries or book shops near me have anytihng on denial its so annoying!. its a shame you dont have ur essay saved damn! :-(

umm...my Q was along the lines of
'who are the most influencial deniers, what are their primary beliefs, and how truthful are their arguments'

theres so much..maybe one area like the deniers refute so strongly like the existance of gas chambers can be the basis of ur essay?

denial material is hard to find in Oz. coz its pretty much banned..thtas y i had to rely on the net..

i'll try 2 scan it sometime soon..i cant believe its not saved...im such a poo head!

I did this topic, and got full marks pm me and I'll help you out and email you a copy of my essay. I studied the methodology used by the revisionist school and compared that with the methodology used by deniers.

And to whoever said studying it gives it credence, that is a very immature attitude. Its like saying if you don't look at it it will go away.
