is Exchange really competitive (1 Viewer)

im doing commerce at usyd but will transfer to arts next year,my major would be Japanese, and my 1st preference is Japan.
i may apply for going on exchange next year, and just wondering how many ppl can actually go on to exchange.
is it really competitive? limitation of slots?

My friend is over in japan on a year exchange at the moment. It's pretty competitive for the language based destinations, especially japan apparently.

You have to have something like a WAM of 70 to even apply (my friend had a WAM in the high 70's or low 80's i think), and a couple of academic references from university tutors or lecturers who teach that language.
