Firefox 1.5 sucks. It's buggy, the new boated menu styles are retarded. It chews up insane amounts of memory when i've got a few tabs open. But it's the lesser of two evils, so I use it. You'll never get a perfect web-browser, but pre-1.5 firefox was close.

If you've just gotten Firefox, you'll need to install Flash and Shockwave for them to work, as they specifically find the web browsers present on your computer when they install.

Spyware/Adware/Malware is more a result and an indication on the user, rather then the software.

Most trojans are actually run by the user, and then installed on their systems.
