alright, so extension history is available next year, and my teacher says that im capable of doing it. i found out today that it scales you up a lot.

I'm not sure whether i should pick it up or not.

Any advice/recommendations? Anyone here that does extension history?

its a lot of work, quite hard and more suited to those that study modern history (not saying that people who study ancient shouldn't do it, its just most of the topics/historians you will study are modern and the way it is set out, etc, etc).

you have to do a major work plus to core topics and a two hour trial and hsc exam.

your choice.. its a lot of work but if you put in the work, its likely that you'll get good marks - as with anything.

I'm doing history Extension next year too. It doesn't scale up by a lot in comparison to the other extension subjects.

Yes, it is a lot of hard work and involves a lot of commitment. The nature of the subject is very different to that of Modern and Ancient History as it focuses on historiography rather than events and issues.
