hey all..
just got my new mackbook pro today, opened it and all seemed great.
that was, until i tried to insert a CD or DVD into it. So i go to put it in, it takes it then makes a really strange sound, tries to read it and spits it back out.
Have tried 4 diferent CDS, and tried inserting it both ways so its not the CD.

am i doing something wrong, or is my macbook stuffed??
thanks

lol, sorry. I missed the spits back out bit... that definately isn't normal as mac support said.

However, the drive is pretty noisy in general.

I have to say a fair few people I know have gotten lemon MacBooks now with the bigger known issues; not closing together correctly, broken keys, battery swelling and the yellow staining.

You're the first I know with a dead superdrive :p

Yeah i googled my problem just to see if anyone else had the same issue, turns out someone did and had to get the superdrive replaced. But seeing as i only got mine this weeks and it came broken, i will get a new one which is good. ( seeing as I spent 4K i really do want a fully functioning machine!!)

even though ive had issues with it from the word go, i must say i <3 my new laptop aand am glad i chose macook pro over a PC laptop.

fucking motherfucking cunt bunch of smarmy computer wankers.

i'm sorry but this macbook has been nothing but trouble. mac os x is a killer piece of operating system, but the actual laptop, with failing HDDs, logic boards, firewire port... not happy.
