If you've got crap teachers, you can teach yourself. The chemistry course is easy enough to learn if you just read a textbook, it's all memorising anyway.

Most of my teachers were good. If they weren't, I just did maths in their class, or proved them wrong each lesson by being pedantic.

Perhaps you could look at school as an introduction to "life". Sure, you could wake up at 10 or 11AM and do the same amount (if not more) that you would learn at school, but then after six years of that routine, what's going to happen when you go to Uni? Or get a 9-to-5 job?

I think it would be a very unwelcome change to suddenly be told what to do, when to do it and how to do it properly. I think, in a way, school prepares you for the real world.

But of course, to each his own. :)

true- but thats going to the other extreme u c. coz u still need school for socialising and for doing things that u can't do at home (eg. practicals) and also seeking help from teachers...:D

but the first reason and the most important reason that i went to skool last year is for the compulsory hours, and to do the assessment and stuff- thats all! :D

yeah definately...teachers (assuming they are decent and good teachers that is!) are a life saver...i would never ever consider homeschooling...i like school...minus assessments and exams :D
nahhh schools ok if the teachers are good, also the socialising is also a plus...imaginae being cooped up doing maths while watching jerry springer...i know some (maybe U ziff) might find this appealing but i shudder at the thought
