Looking at getting the ASUS Pro31JC from JB Hi-Fi for $1374. Is this a good deal?

  • 1GB RAM ( 1 X 1GB DDRII)

  • BUILT IN BLUETOOTH
  • BUILT IN 1.3MP WEBCAM
  • VISTA HOME PREMIUM

not bad, although if you can spare a bit more cash, get an extra gig of ram since it's pretty cheap at the moment. vista will reward your generosity :)

I have this exact one and theres nothing to complain about but I agree with getting another gig of ram.

Alright thanks for the replies guys. How will this machine go at running games? I know it probably won't play the latest stuff or games like Oblivion, but what about stuff like Doom 3 and Half Life 2?

u will not be able to play them on high settings, i got a laptop a bit better than that and i have to put F.E.A.R on the lowest [everything low] settings-_- and it still lags like hell

i reckon itll be alright though...the extra gig of ram would do you wonders though.

hah, what store is this?

yes, people. an extra gig of ram would be nice, so would a quad-core cpu, and hell, why not 300gb hd.

you have to have some sense though.

That asus would come with a tv tuner and mouse aswell.

lol amds 8 core wouldnt b bad either, nor would sli 8800gtx-_-

The extra gig of ram would be nice but not a must but if yuo want to play entry level games then that laptop seems fine but like everyone says the extra gig of ram would help

Alright thanks for the help. Bought it the other day, though I haven't invested in another gig of ram yet. Seems to work really well though. Have tried Doom 3 in it and it works fine.
